They are an easily accessible contact for questions or issues, someone whose job is to be visible, accessible, and vigilant, can resolve disputes, and whose presence promotes a welcoming, friendly atmosphere at the Center.Principal Activities:Process new member applications.Acts as a cashier for members' payments of dues, parking fees, or other appropriate financial transactions.Update member information as needed.Check-in all members & participants for daily activities.Provides consistent center and agency information to members.Assists members and participants with program registration, answer inquiries, including member concerns, and provides information on Carl Gipson's membership and programs.Refers members as appropriate to programs and/or staff based on member goals/interests.Balances and completes reports for financial transactions.Develops positive relationships with members and participants.Encourages member involvement and identifies potential volunteers.Provide documents, reports, and correspondence as requested.Organize member files.Attend all staff meetings.Responsible for safeguarding confidential information.Keeps membership informed by making announcements, posting notices, and managing the activities board.Orients new members.Proactively makes sure that members understand policies.Enforces policies firmly but kindly.Other duties as they may arise.#Voaww1Friendly, helpful, positive personality.Experience working in social services and maintaining professional boundaries.Experience working seniors preferred.Can take charge of situations and ability to stay even-tempered, consistent, and fair-minded under pressure.Is skilled at conflict resolution and problem-solving; by example, promotes a positive, friendly, and welcoming atmosphere.Experience working with diverse populations including people who are homeless and/or have a mental illness.Speaks and writes in English clearly and fluently; Bilingual skills preferred.Enjoys interacting with seniors.Knowledgeable about resources available to low-income seniors and can conduct research to obtain further information preferred.Consistent, organized, and able to follow a schedule.Observant and a good listener.High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent; Coursework in Human Services preferred.Competency in the use of Microsoft Office (Word/Excel/Access/Publisher), the Internet for research and accessing services, and other relevant tools for e-mail and data entry.Valid driver's license.Pass a Washington State Patrol background check.Qualifications:Friendly, helpful, positive personality.Experience working in social services and maintaining professional boundaries.Experience working seniors preferred.Can take charge of situations and ability to stay even-tempered, consistent, and fair-minded under pressure.Is skilled at conflict resolution and problem-solving; by example, promotes a positive, friendly, and welcoming atmosphere.Experience working with diverse populations including people who are homeless and/or have a mental illness.Speaks and writes in English clearly and fluently; Bilingual skills preferred.Knowledgeable about resources available to low-income seniors and can conduct research to obtain further information preferred.Consistent, organized, and able to follow a schedule.Observant and a good listener.High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent; Coursework in Human Services preferred.Competency in the use of Microsoft Office (Word/Excel/Access/Publisher), the Internet for research and accessing services, and other relevant tools for e-mail and data entry.Valid driver's license.Pass a Washington State Patrol background check.Minimum age 21CPR/1st Aid/AED certification within 30 days of hire.Food Handlers Permit within 30 days of hire.VOA Driver Training Class within 30 days of hire.Important Note: As stated in Governor's Proclamation 21-14 and its amendments, all employees working in the organizations that have contracts with the Department of Health or the Department of Social and Health Services are required to be fully vaccinated against COVID-19 on or before October 18, 2021.
