RoleKleinfelder's Redmond, WA office is seeking a creative, highly
talented, and collaborative Geotechnical Group Leader.The
successful candidate will be responsible for the overall management
and delivery of geotechnical services performed through
Kleinfelder's Redmond office, involving both internal and external
teams. Duties include delivering quality services, managing staff,
partnering with our business development team, and collaborating
with other Service Lines within the company. Candidates should
possess significant experience in geotechnical engineering and
design, construction support, project management, and staff
development, with integrity and a drive to succeed. The successful
candidate will partner with our Principals and lead the Redmond
team in achieving high client service, producing quality work
products, being responsive to client needs, meeting deadlines, and
creating clear communication with clients and staff.Position
Requirements:
- Candidates are required to have 15 or more years of related
experience, including experience in Western Washington.
- Licensed PE in Washington.
- Proven experience in broad aspects of geotechnical
engineering.
- Proven experience as a trusted advisor to clients of all
sizes.
- Proven experience managing and mentoring geotechnical
staff.
- Proven experience hiring engineering or geologic
professionals.
- Proven experience leading diverse project teams.
- Proven experience capturing business development opportunities,
preparing proposals, and leading technical pursuits.
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or Engineering Geology;
Master's in Geotechnical Engineering is strongly desired.Preferred
Skills/Experience:
- Ability to support and develop motivated individuals.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills; ability to
work independently or in multidisciplinary teams.
- Experience in business development, project acquisition, and
client relationship management.
- Experience planning, implementing, and managing geotechnical
exploration programs.
- Experience guiding engineers and geologists in site
characterization, foundation recommendations, slope stability, and
settlement analyses.
- Experience preparing geotechnical reports, drawings, and
specifications for foundations and earthwork across various
projects.
- Experience managing project budgets, client updates, and
general project management tasks.
- Experience preparing and delivering technical
presentations.
- Experience supervising field observation, testing, and site
visits.
- Proactive troubleshooting and practical, client-focused
problem-solving skills.
- Ability to interface with civil design teams to develop and
value-engineer geotechnical solutions.
- Strong organizational skills for prioritizing and
multitasking.
- Ability to collaborate with leadership and project
managers.
- A desire to learn and continuously improve within a team

We offer an excellent compensation and benefits package, including

The salary range for this position is $140,000 - $235,000, based on
