Boeing Commercial Airlines (BCA), 787 Integrated Modular Avionics organization has an exciting opportunity for Electronics System Design and Integration Engineers (level 3 or 4) in Everett, WA.

This position will assist with the projects focus on design, development, and production support of Integrated Modular Avionics (IMA), Platform Architecture and Airplane Electronic Hardware (AEH) & Software. Responsibilities include translation of concepts and high-level requirements to specific architectures and operational specifications, and the integration of avionics systems and components into our complex airplanes. Work with a worldwide team to implement system hardware and software. Verification of system designs at the component, system and airplane levels. Work with aircraft systems from initial concept through certification, delivery, and in-service support.

Our teams are currently hiring for a broad range of experience levels including; Experienced and Senior Electronics System Design and Integration Engineers.

This is a union represented position.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Component design, development and qualification to applicable aerospace standards.
  • System Requirements documentation, validation, and verification.
  • Assist with Performing System Safety Analysis.
  • IMA Platform configuration definition in alignment to airplane functional requirements.
  • Integrate with IMA Platform hosted functions to develop and document complex electronic and electrical system requirements.
  • Analyzes and decomposes requirements into system, hardware and software designs and interface specifications.
  • Verification of system designs to meet operational and functional requirements.
  • Oversee supplier performance to ensure system integration and compliance with requirements and schedule.
  • Lead resolution for production and fleet issues related to 787 IMA Systems. Work Authorization:

    The position must meet Export Control compliance requirements, therefore a "US Person" as defined by 22 C.F.R. 120.15 is required. "US Person" includes US Citizen, lawful permanent resident, refugee, or asylee.

    This position is expected to be 100% onsite. The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at Everett, WA.

    Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):
    • Bachelor's Degree from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry
    • 3+ years of experience with design engineering Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):
      • 5+ years of related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience
      • Knowledge & experience with standards: DO-160, ARP-4754A, ARP-4761, DO-178 and DO-254, DO-297.
      • Experience as equipment manager is preferred.
      • Electrical or Computer engineering degree
      • Experience within Electronic Systems hardware and software design
      • Experience defining and implementing engineering processes and methods
      • Experience certifying electronic systems designs through FAA or other regulatory agencies
      • Experience with systems design during an airplane development program including Amended Type Certification
      • Experience leading cross functional teams
      • Demonstrated project management skills within a fast paced highly integrated environment
      • Experience with Model Based Development tools Typical Education / Experience:

        Experienced (Level 3)

        Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 5 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.g. PhD, Master+3 years' related work experience). In the USA, ABET accreditation is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.

        Experienced (Level 4)
        Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 9 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.g. PhD+4 years' related work experience, Master+7 years' related work experience). In the USA, ABET accreditation is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.

        Relocation:

        Relocation assistance is not a negotiable benefit for this position. Candidates must live in the immediate area or relocate at their own expense.

        Summary pay range:

        Experienced Level: $104,550 - $141,450

        Senior Level: $128,350 - $173, 650

To meet export control compliance requirements, a "U.S. Person" as defined by 22 C.F.R. 120.15 is required. "U.S. Person" includes U.S. Citizen, lawful permanent resident, refugee, or asylee.
