Job Description Qualifications:

Boeing Commercial Airplanes (BCA) is seeking Supplier Quality Specialists (Level 4 or 5) to join the newly created Regional Operation Control Tower team in Everett, WA or one of the other listed locations.

We are seeking subject matter experts in interiors commodity, systems commodity or raw materials and fasteners commodity, to join its newly created Regional Operation Control Tower team. The role will be to coordinate process improvements, identify common issues, develop and help implement corrective actions across the Interiors, Systems, and Materials & Fasteners commodity supply bases. The role reports to the BCA Supplier Quality Regional Operations "Control Tower" Manager.

Our team members enjoy and meet the challenges of working remotely, with requirements to travel up to 50% of the time to different supplier locations including possible extended stays at supplier locations. Our team members recognize and appreciate the autonomy, trust and judgment granted to them, to ensure the oversight of our suppliers.

Position Responsibilities:

  • BCA SQ organization Interiors, Systems, or Materials & Fasteners commodity subject matter focal
  • Identify common issues across the Interiors, Systems, and Materials & Fasteners commodity
  • Coordinate cross functional action plans with Supply Chain and Engineering
  • Develop organization level action plans to assess supplier processes and prevent future escapes
  • Train suppliers and SQRs in the application of new oversight tools and processes
  • Report action plan status and conclusions to SQ leadership
  • Support Regional SQRs to ensure supplier's Quality Management System (QMS) compliance with Boeing requirements
  • Engage with current and new suppliers to ensure First Time Quality
  • Develop and maintain Quality of Event metrics to measure SQR effectiveness
  • Develop training materials and other resources to support improvements in supplier performance and productivity
  • Report supplier's quality risks and opportunities to leadership
  • Establish requirements for the performance of supplier audits and assessments
  • Develop and maintain standard audit and assessment processes
  • Lead special or high visibility audits/assessments of supplier's systems, processes and products
  • Participate with customers and suppliers to develop and implement product acceptance standards
  • Able to travel up to 50% of the time This position is hybrid. This means that the selected candidate will be required to perform some work onsite at one of the listed location options. This is at the hiring team's discretion and could potentially change in the future.

    Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):
    • 10+ years of experience in quality, supplier quality, or supplier management
    • Able to travel up to 50% of the time Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):
      • 10+ years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience
      • 14+ years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience
      • 10+ years of experience with raw materials and fasteners commodity
      • 10+ years of experience with systems commodity
      • 10+ years of experience with interiors commodity
      • Ability to communicate effectively with stakeholders at all levels of an organization
      • Strong understanding of root cause and corrective action analysis and implementation of acceptable preventative action
      • Knowledge of supplier quality system requirements, along with extensive process auditing experience
      • Working knowledge of various quality tools and processes such as Lean, APQP, FMEA, control plans, SPC, FAI, RCCA
      • Working knowledge of AS9100, AS9102 and AS9145
      • Lean or lean six sigma experience (leading or co-leading teams with value stream mapping and shop floor standard work events)
      • Demonstrated knowledge of project management best practices and processes
      • Experience developing supplier improvement plans and strategies, providing training, and coaching
      • Fluent in spoken and written English Typical Education/Experience:

        Level 4: Education/experience typically acquired through advanced education (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 10 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience (e.g. Master+8 years' related work experience, 14 years' related work experience, etc.).

        Level 5: Education/experience typically acquired through advanced education (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 15 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience (e.g. Master+13 years' related work experience, 19 years' related work experience, etc.).

        Summary pay range:

        Level 4: $109,650 - $148,350

        Level 5: $127,500-172,500
