We manufacture innovative shelter systems that are used in disaster relief, homeless transitional housing and temporary worker housing.POSITION OVERVIEW As a Field Specialist you will travel to, and stay in, different locations across the United States and work with a group of people building Pallet Shelter communities. You will work in our Everett, WA location doing other projects and jobs when you are not travelingRESPONSIBILITIES In the first three months you will:

  • Learn about how important safety and quality is in our work.
  • Learn how to assemble a shelter and how to teach someone else how to do it.
  • Learn how to plan and schedule travel to locations around the USA - examples such as how to submit expenses, book your travel and how to represent our company.
  • Learn other skills involved in constructing a Pallet community such as receiving and unloading delivered goods at a project site.
  • Learn how to work with external build teams (non Pallet employees).
  • Learn how to effectively communicate with your supervisor on project status and how to troubleshoot challenges.
  • Go on a deployment to build a community.After going on deployment you will be able to do everything you have learned so far and also:
    • Lead external build teams on the construction of shelter communities
    • Confidently work with team members, build partners, and general contractors
    • Train subcontracted partners on the assembly of individual shelter units and how to assemble many with shelters at the same time.
    • Help ensure that all activities in the field are done with the highest standards for quality and safety.To do well in this role you need to have the following characteristics:
      • Work on other projects and jobs we need doing when you are not traveling. For example you may work on the manufacturing or product development team where they need help, or do some warranty or repair work. MUST HAVE REQUIREMENTS for this role:
        • Be willing and able to travel up to 50% of the time with possible 2 days notice.
        • Be able to read to understand directions and write to complete simple paperwork.
        • Be able to use a tape measure and understand basic math skills.
        • Have a valid driver's license
        • Be a forklift and or telehandler licensed operator, or willing to be trained upon hire and pass the test within 30 days.
        • Be able to safely operate basic hand and power tools such as hammers, screwdrivers, drills and saws.
        • Be able to lift 50 lbs many times a day, move freely, and able to stand on your feet for many hours a day
        • Be vaccinated against Covid-19 and other required vaccines or be willing to do so prior to hire.
        • You can not be on a registered offenders list.Bonus points for:
          • OSHA Certification in basic construction safety.
          • CPR Certified. To do well in this role you need to have the following CHARACTERISTICS

            • You are flexible and able to adapt while staying professional and positiveIn the future you will have a chance to learn:
              • Leadership skills or some management expertise.
              • Opportunities to work on special projects in other areas to learn new skills.
              • Experience with quality control processes.
                • Experience troubleshooting and performing maintenance on LOCATION
