At Cocoon House we empower young people, families, and communities
in Snohomish County to break the cycle of homelessness through
outreach, housing, and prevention. We believe that every young
person deserves a home and the opportunity to achieve their fullest
potential. Currently, our Young Adult Housing program is looking
for the right person to fill the Resident Services Specialist role
which works directly with formerly homeless young adults ages
18-24. The purpose of this position is to offer supportive services
to young adults in a housing first program model at Journeys at
Cocoon House.Our Resident Services Specialists...Build
relationships with young adults to establish trust and engagement
in services when neededMaintain healthy and safe boundaries with
young adultsHave a strong familiarity with local services and how
to access themAccept and are competent a variety of lifestyles,
behaviors, and cultural and spiritual practicesCommunicate clearly
and effectively with the young adults in the program, outside
partners, and the public that they work withDe-escalate crises and
utilize anti-racist, inclusive, equity-based, and trauma-informed
care in all of their workWhat does the job look like?Days
Full-time: 40 hrs/weekBuild and maintain relationships with young
adults using strength-based, positive youth development approach
with a focus in key areas such as: education, employment, housing,
health/wellness, life skills, relationships, and community
connectedness.Assist young adults in building community while at
JourneysOn-site support for young adultsManage accurate and timely
data and paperwork related to individual services

Requirements:
Preferred:Bilingual English/Spanish skillsGeneral:Must be 21 years
of age or olderHigh school diploma or GEDExperience working with
young adults experiencing homelessnessDSHS background
clearanceAcceptable driver's abstract with no more than 2
violations within last 3 yearsPossess a valid driver's license,
insurance, and reliable transportationProof of COVID-19
vaccination(s)Physical:Ability to perform range of physical
motions, exerting up to 50 poundsLifting and carrying up to 50
poundsStanding, walking, sitting for long periods of time,
kneeling, squatting, and stoopingRunning for brief periods of
