Reports to: Supervisors, Assistant Manager and Store Manager Direct
Reports: None Position Philosophy The duties of the Defective &
Back Stock Coordinator position are to be performed by
demonstrating and encouraging Stan's Merry Mart's core values. The
defective and back stock coordinator is responsible for all
functions and paperwork related to processing defective returns
with vendors as well daily operations and organization of the
basement and back stock areas. This position operates machinery
including pallet jacks and forklift in a safe and proper manner.
The employee must maximize sales potential through effective and
proper procedures for returning all products deemed defective in
the store including verifying product defects and customer
dissatisfaction. The defective and back stock coordinator must also
keep the basement and other back stock areas neat and organized.
This position is responsible with helping in maintaining
cleanliness of back stock areas including basement and backrooms.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities: --- Verifying all defective
product for the store, inspecting for issues, damage, and quality.
--- Reports any discrepancies to Freight Receiver, Managers and
Buyer(s) to rectify problems, such as damages, or nonconformance to
specifications from vendors. --- Works closely with the freight
receiver and inventory manager to make arrangements or to issue
instructions for shipping of defective materials back to vendors or
proper disposal of items. --- Work with vendors via phone and email
to correct department to obtain credit and return product to
vendor. --- Delivers or routes products to appropriate shipping
locations. --- Attends all applicable trainings, and be able to use
or be certified in use of appropriate equipment (including
forklifts, pallet jacks, baler, etc.) needed for store or facility.
--- Maintains courteous relationships with drivers and vendors. ---
Follows Stan's standards as they pertain to defective practices.
--- Follows and complies with all applicable health and sanitation
procedures and adheres to safe work practices. --- Operates all
equipment in a safe and proper manner. --- Drive the truck to
various locations as needed. --- Other related duties as assigned.
Required Knowledge Skills and Abilities: --- High school diploma or
equivalent and 1-2 years prior receiving experience; or an
acceptable combination of education and experience. --- Ability to
prioritize and multi-task. --- Ability to work independently yet
have excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate
effectively with other team members and Store leadership. ---
Knowledgeably communicate with service vendors via phone and email.
--- Ability to understand proper retail practices. --- Ability to
perform simple math operations (addition, subtraction,
multiplication, and division). --- Basic computer knowledge.
Physical Demands: --- Tolerate inside/ outside temperatures
(heat/cold) --- Stooping and bending --- Pulling palletized product
up to 1000 lbs. --- Ability to operate all necessary equipment. ---
Unload trucks --- Requires the ability to reach, bend, balance,
lift and transport various objects weighing up to 30 lbs repeatedly
throughout the shift; at times, product weight may reach 50 lbs.
Requires the ability to move heavy product with assistance.
