The Everett Clinic Coding Compliance department is seeking a Supervisor Coding Compliance to join their team full time. This is a fully remote position.The Supervisor Compliance & Coding functions as an integral member of the team and is responsible to the Manager, Coding Compliance. This position serves to demonstrate proficiency in all aspects of outpatient coding. Demonstrates experience by correlating coding accuracy with correct HCC assignment. Complies with all aspects of Coding and Corporate Compliance standards. Abides by all ethical standards and adheres to official coding guidelines. Performs other duties as assigned. Site, schedule, location of work and job responsibility is at the discretion of management.The Supervisor Coding Compliance is responsible for and not limited to:Assists in the hiring and interviewing of new teammates. Works collaboratively with Payroll, HRIS, and HR teams for setting pay rates, and work hours.Works collaboratively with Manager to monitor team performance. Provides constructive feedback, coaching and/or counseling to the team, as needed, in accordance with Company policies.Prepares and submits yearly performance evaluations.Supports manager and performs management duties when manager is absent or out of office; including the ability to make executive decisions (e.g., workflow changes, time off requests/approvals, disciplinary actions, etc.) as needed.Provides encouragement to team members, including communicating team goals and identifying areas for new training.Answers team member questions, helps with team member problems, and oversees team member work for quality and guideline compliance.Mentors employees on strengths and weaknesses to assist them in achieving professional goals.Responsible for the daily operation of the coding function and team including monitoring the quality and quantity of workflow to ensure the completion of work assignments.Monitor and report all required performance measures to include the development of department goals and assist in the assessment of goal attainment.Review and/or audit team members' work to ensure quality of department. Develops strategies to promote team member adherence to company regulations and performance goals.Implement and/or create work-flow processes to support continuous improvement as directed by Coding Manager. Identify process challenges and develop solutions that contribute to a more efficient workflow. Identify and implement improvement measures that will enhance coding operations and excellent support to our physicians.Conducts team meetings to update members on best practices and continuing education. Conduct and recommend trainings to improve team performance.Deliver provider education/audit results for select providers, based on business need.Ensures proper allocation of work to team members. Maintains timekeeping for employees and monitor teammate hours.Safeguards medical records and preserves the confidentiality of personal health information through the observance of HIPAA privacy and security in a working remotely environment.Maintains consistent and reliable attendance (i.e. fulfills scheduled work hours).Required Experience and Credentials:Education:A High School diploma, GED or equivalent.AAPC/AHIMA or other approved coding certification program.A CPC or equivalent from an approved accreditation.Experience:Must have 3-5 years of coding experience in a multi-specialty environment2-3 years minimum supervisory experienceCertificate/License: Must have a minimum of one of the followingAAPC approved coding certification program.CCDS: Certified Clinical Documentation Specialist (Association of Clinical Documentation Improvement Specialists)CCS: Certified Coding SpecialistCDEO: Certified Documentation Expert - OutpatientCDIP: Certified Documentation Improvement PractitionerCOC: Certified Outpatient Coding Professional; formerly Certified Professional Coding Professional - Hospital Outpatient (CPC-H)CPC: Certified Professional Coding ProfessionalCPC-P: Certified Professional Coding Professional - PayerCRC: Certified Risk Adjustment Coding ProfessionalRHIA: Registered Health Information AdministratorRHIT: Registered Health Information TechnicianUnitedHealth Group requires all new hires and employees to report their COVID-19 vaccination statusFull COVID-19 vaccination is an essential requirement of this role.
