Job Description:

The Everett Clinic is seeking an RN Oncology Care Coordinator to join their team in the Oncology department at the Cancer Center in Everett working 40 hours weekly.

The RN Oncology Care Coordinator functions as an integral member of the healthcare team and is responsible for:

Under general supervision of the Oncology Director, the RN Oncology Care Coordinator oversees the nursing care of Oncology Patients. You will work a 4-10 schedule, 7am-6pm, primarily working with patients telephonically, with some patient interaction.

The RN Oncology Care Coordinator is responsible for and not limited to: 

  • Responsible for patient case management. Coordinates nursing and patient care activities within the department and with other clinical departments in order to provide efficient comprehensive & cost-effective patient care.
  • Assess patient needs, matching unmet needs with appropriate services and referrals and support services.
  • Applies knowledge of clinical guidelines and best practice (e.g. NCCN, ONS, AAACN) and specialty resources throughout the cancer continuum.
  • Identifies potential and realized barriers to care and facilitates referrals as appropriate to mitigate barriers.
  • Develops knowledge of available local, community, and national resources and connects patients to these resources.

Preferred Experience and Credentials:

  • Knowledge of professional nursing theory and practice to give & evaluate patient care.
  • Education: Graduation from an accredited Nursing program (RN or BSN).  Demonstration of ongoing commitment to self-directed education in oncology and infusion practice.
  • Experience: One-year current clinical experience in Oncology setting preferred (Skill in applying & modifying the principles, methods and techniques of professional nursing to provide on-going patient care.) Two years of RN experience required with an interest to learn Oncology.
  • Certificate/License: Current Washington State RN licensure. ONS Chemotherapy and Immunotherapy Nursing Certification preferred within first year of hire.
