Company DescriptionBRIX Marine is a part of the family-owned and growing Bryton Marine Group: All American Marine, BRIX Marine, EagleCraft, Duckworth, KingFisher, Northwest and Weldcraft boats.BRIX designs and builds aluminum catamarans, monohulls, and Naiad RHIBs distinguished by quality craftsmanship and innovative design.Join the legacy today!Job DescriptionComplete layout, cutting, fitting/assembly, weld preparation, and finishing to manufacture vessels to specifications.It shall be the commitment of all employees to uphold BRIX Marine's Core Values of: Respect, Teamwork, Quality Craftsmanship, Financial Responsibility, Accountability, and Safety.Reports ToFabrication SupervisorDirect ReportsN/ADutiesLayout, cut, and fit pipe, plate, fittings, and flanges to build jigs, frames, machinery foundations, hulls, stiffeners, hatches, tanks, deck components, superstructures, etc.Clamp, tack-weld, grind or bolt component parts to obtain required configurations and positions for welding.Operate hand tools related to the job, including: saws, grinders, sanders, etc.Operate equipment related to the job, including: forklifts, hoists, slings, press brakes, shear machine, hydraulic rolls.Use tape measures, levels and other inspection/testing to verify outputs conform with design specifications, company quality standards, and regulatory requirements.Wear appropriate PPE and demonstrate safe fabricating/fitting practices. Comply with safety standards required by the company and regulatory bodies.Obtain and maintain proper workplace training and certifications.Participate in regular/required meetings.Complete work within specified deadlines set by the Fabrication Supervisor.Other duties as required.QualificationsHS diploma or equivalent. Technical certificates and/or professional certifications (e.g. welding) will be considered an asset.1+ years power/hand tool experience (aluminum fabrication / boat-building experience preferred).Knowledge of the principles, techniques and practices of aluminum fabrication.Ability to read and interpret plans and drawings.Basic mathematical skills required in manufacturing environment.Must be 18 years of age and eligible to work in the US.CompetenciesAttention to DetailAccountability and DependabilityAbility to Understand and Apply Verbal/Written InstructionsInterpersonal Skills / Ability to Work on a TeamAdditional InformationFull-Time, Non-Exempt (Hourly)EnvironmentWork is performed in a metal manufacturing facility. Noise level can vary from moderate to high. The use of PPE (e.g. hand/hearing/eye protection) is required.Continuous physical effort is required (standing, walking, stooping, climbing stairs, grasping/reaching above head height, lifting/moving items up to 50 pounds individually or 75 pounds with assistance). The employee is occasionally required to work from a ladder and/or scaffolding.CompensationBase pay rate from $15/hr, DOE.
