Staff Software Engineer to join our Digital Identity team. As a key
member, you'll help architect and build the systems that answer two
fundamental questions for every customer interaction: "Who is this
person?" and "What are they entitled to?" You'll work on building
our true person identification systems, expanding our customer data
model to support complex relationships, and developing intelligent
personalization capabilities that power trusted financial
experiences across SoFi's ecosystem. The ideal candidate is

is intellectually curious, dives below the surface to identify root
causes, and is an outstanding mentor and leader.The Team You Will
JoinThe Digital Identity group was formed last year to be the
single threaded owner of all customer identity data. We focus on
collecting, protecting, and distributing the critical data that
enables SoFi to recognize and support customers as they move
through digital product experiences. We work with some of our
customer's most sensitive data, and we take privacy and security
very seriously, moving towards a zero-trust architecture.What
You'll Do:
- Architect & Build: Drive and contribute to the design and
implementation of scalable, secure and efficient entitlement,
permission and authorization management systems.
- Own your systems: Operate with a high degree of independence
and autonomy to solve ambiguous problems, as well as take ownership
of your work, from design to deployment, and be a champion for
operational excellence.
- Collaborate Effectively: Partner with project leads, product
managers as well as other software developers to translate business
requirements into technical solutions.
- Mentor & Lead: Participate in shaping the long-term
architecture and vision for the team. Support the professional
development of other team members.
- Wear Multiple Hats: Participate in the entire product
lifecycle, implement new functionality, architect new systems,
squash bugs, maintain the health and documentation of the code; and
continuously grow as an engineer.What You'll Need:
- 6+ years of experience of working on highly scalable and
available systems.
- Proficiency with Java / Kotlin.
- Proficiency in Spring, Kubernetes & SQL.
- Proven track record of working on scaling highly available,
mission-critical systems with a SOA architecture.
- Experience leading and mentoring teams, and working on
multi-quarter projects.
- Knowledge of REST API, design patterns, and scalable
containerized systems and microservices.
- Growth mindset and a deep passion to improve customer
experience!Nice to Have:
- Experience with designing, implementing, and maintaining
identity technologies such as FGA, OPA, Zanzibar etc.
- Experience with Snowflake, Datadog as well as infrastructure as
code tools (e.g., Terraform, Ansible).What we offer:

BenefitsThe base pay range for this role is listed below. Final
base pay offer will be determined based on individual factors such
as the candidate's experience, skills, and location.Pay range:
$153,600.00 - $264,000.00Payment frequency: AnnualThis role is also
eligible for a bonus, long term incentives and competitive
