Job Description:
Job Description Job Description Step into the role of a
Registered Nurse specializing in Labor and Delivery, where your
clinical expertise and compassionate care guide families through
one of life’s most meaningful moments. In Mount Vernon, Washington,
you’ll join a dedicated obstetric team that respects both the
science of childbirth and the art of reassurance. This opportunity
isn’t just a job—it’s a mission to empower new families with
safety, dignity, and positive birth experiences. Washington’s
backdrop offers more than a career path: it showcases a treasure
trove of natural beauty, from the evergreen landscapes and tranquil
Puget Sound coastlines to the dramatic grandeur of the North
Cascades and Olympic foothills. The region’s charm extends beyond
patient care, inviting you to explore vibrant local communities,
seasonal fairs, outdoor adventures, and a lifestyle that
complements the demanding yet rewarding nature of labor and
delivery nursing. Mount Vernon sits in the heart of Skagit Valley,
a community known for its warmth, accessibility, and balanced pace.
You’ll benefit from a setting that combines respectful,
patient-centered obstetric care with proximity to Seattle’s
academic medical resources, eclectic dining, cultural events, and
easy weekend getaways to nearby islands, trails, and waterfront
towns. For clinicians who relish variety, this program also opens
doors to assignments across the United States, delivering exposure
to diverse birth settings—from high-volume urban centers to rural
facilities with close-knit teams. Our travel program is designed to
broaden your clinical horizons while keeping you supported,
connected, and secure every step of the way. As an L&D RN,
you’ll manage labor and delivery from admission through postpartum
care with a focus on maternal and fetal surveillance, timely
interventions, and safe delivery practices. Core responsibilities
include continuous fetal monitoring interpretation, labor
progression assessment, pain management administration and
coordination of analgesia, including epidural protocols, and rapid
response to emergent obstetric situations. You’ll perform and
assist with cesarean deliveries when indicated, participate in
neonatal resuscitation as needed, and provide immediate
stabilization and lactation support for new mothers. You’ll work
collaboratively with obstetricians, midwives, anesthesia, NICU
staff, and support teams to optimize outcomes and ensure smooth
patient handoffs. The role also invites you to mentor and educate
newer nurses, participate in quality improvement initiatives, and
engage in evidence-based practice that elevates standard of care.
Growth opportunities span clinical specialization within labor,
birth center expansion, leadership tracks as charge nurse or
preceptor, and ongoing professional development in high-risk
obstetrics, fetal monitoring, and neonatal support. Our
compensation package is competitive and transparent, with a weekly
pay range of $2,310–$2,402 and a guaranteed 36 hours per week. We
recognize the importance of a smooth transition, so we provide a
sign-on bonus and housing assistance to help you settle in quickly
and comfortably. In addition, there’s potential for contract
extensions that align with your career goals and personal
preferences, enabling you to deepen your expertise while building
lasting relationships with hospital leadership and clinical
colleagues. The travel program also offers robust support: a
dedicated team available 24/7 to assist with scheduling, locale
research, housing coordination, and any clinical or logistical
needs, so you can focus on delivering exceptional obstetric care.
Our organization is rooted in empowering staff to grow—investing in
mentorship, continuing education, and a supportive work environment
that values your contributions. You’ll find a culture that
emphasizes autonomy paired with accountability, open dialogue with
leadership, and pathways to advance your career within a network of
experienced nurses, physicians, educators, and administrators. We
celebrate diverse patient populations, encourage inquiry, and
support you in balancing clinical excellence with personal
well-being. The emphasis on professional development means you’ll
have access to internal training programs, certifications, and
opportunities to lead initiatives that improve patient outcomes and
experiences across multiple sites. Ready to apply? This is your
chance to join a company that champions your development,
recognizes your dedication, and values the critical role you play
in shaping patient experiences from the first minutes of labor to
the postpartum transition. Start date is 03/02/2026, with
assignments varying in length across weeks and a guaranteed 36
hours per week. In addition to the competitive weekly pay, you’ll
receive a sign-on bonus and housing assistance, with the option to
extend your assignment to continue advancing your career. Note that
the hours and pay rates listed are estimates and may vary; final
compensation packages and guaranteed hours will be confirmed during
the hiring process. If you’re an empathetic, skilled L&D RN
ready to impact birth experiences in Washington and across the
country, apply now and embark on a rewarding journey that blends
clinical excellence, professional growth, and a fulfilling
lifestyle. Privacy & Consent By applying, you agree to TLC
