Job Title: Surgical Tech Profession: Surgical Tech Specialty: Operating Room Duration: 13 weeks Shift: 8H Days Hours per Shift: 0630-1500 Mon-Fri Experience: Minimum of 2 years License: Washington state license required Certifications: BLS, CST preferred Must-Have: Experience in circulating, prefer ortho experience Description: Unit has 5 operating room suites. Average of 15 cases are performed each day. These cases are a mix of inpatient and outpatient. Common cases include orthopedic, podiatry, urology, general surgery, ENT, plastics, and robotic surgeries. Experience with the Da Vinci Robot and Mako Robot for total joints is preferred. Techs are required to have a minimum of 2 years of experience. Circulating experience is necessary, with a preference for orthopedic procedures. Scrubbing is required for this position. The electronic medical records system used is Epic. The schedule guarantees 36 hours per week, with weekdays from 0630 to 1500. There is a call rotation requirement. After the first month, one night call is required during the week. There is a four-week grace period before taking on-call duties. A 24-hour weekend call shift is required every six weeks. Holidays are covered by call time, and there is no rotation for holidays. The maximum call response time is 30 minutes. Floating between units is not required. Dress code and scrubs are provided. Unit-specific orientation will be provided over 3-5 shifts depending on comfort level and prior experience. The hospital can cancel up to 4 shifts during a 13-week assignment. The charting system used is EpicCare Inpatient. A BSN is not required for this position. This position is in an acute care setting.
