Job Description:

Proliance Everett Bone and Joint, Everett, WA is seeking a Certified Physician Assistant, to assist with a thriving spine practice. We are a well-established 8 surgeon group offering fellowship trained subspecialty orthopedic services. EBJ owns and operates 2 clinical Care Centers, an ambulatory surgery center, and an MRI center.
EBJ is a care center division of Proliance Surgeons, Inc. Proliance is a surgeon-owned and managed corporation, consisting of more than 200 orthopedic surgeons and other surgical specialties throughout the Puget Sound region. While Proliances size allows us to competitively contract with our local insurance carriers and hospitals, our physician ownership and local management results in relative autonomy at the Care Center level.
This qualified individual would be credentialed to practice with the spine surgeon at the local medical center and at the surgeon owned ASC. Other key duties include:

Greeting/ identifying patient & completing and documenting an accurate history and physical examination of patients; may include moving and positioning patients
Conducting musculoskeletal assessments and developing patient care plans
Ordering and interpreting tests, treatments, and therapies within the scope of practice
Prescribing medications, diet, supplies, prosthetic devices, and other home health aides or medication according to clinical privileges
Instruct and counsel patients regarding the total treatment plan & therapeutic regimes.
Providing clear, concise, and accurate information regarding patient care in the medical record
Obtain/maintain technical familiarity and proficiency for specific surgical procedures prior to their performance. Remain proficient in the utilization of commonly used clinical protocols and guidelines
Assist in Surgical Procedures.
Hospital rounds, including patient care, charting & all paperwork/documentation, and interacting with the patient and family/care givers, staff, consultants, and discharge planners.
Provides education to patients, families, and significant others using established education materials
Assist other orthopedic specialties as directed
Integrates evidence-based knowledge and clinical expertise in decision-making
Seeks experiences and formal and independent learning activities to maintain and develop clinical and professional skills and knowledge
Establishes an effective relationship with the collaborating physician
Education and Experience
Graduate of accredited Physicians Assistant Program.
Washington State Physician Assistant License, Current
Current Certification as a physician assistant by the National Commission of Physician Assistants (NCCPA) is an asset
Current CPR and BLS from the American Heart Association
Two years prior experience in surgery preferred
Knowledge, Skills andAbilities
Advanced physical assessment and critical thinking skills required. Ability to listen, interact and communicate verbally and in writing
Required: Comprehensive knowledge of surgical procedures, techniques, Standards of Care, instrumentation, equipment, and supplies as they directly correlate to the specialty.

Work may be performed in an office and clinical environment. Requires corrected vision and hearing to normal range. Use of telephone and computer is required. Manual dexterity required for use of computer keyboard. Occasionally lifts and carries items weighing up to 40 pounds. May requires working under stressful conditions or working irregular hours.
