Job Description:
Description Providence is calling a Licensed Practical Nurse
(LPN) (0.9 FTE, Night Shift) to work for Nursing Float Personnel at
Providence Regional Medical Center Everett in Everett, WA. Under
the guidance of a registered nurse, the Licensed Practical Nurse
provides safe and effective nursing care to an assigned group of
patients in a variety of age groups. In this position you will:
- Demonstrate age specific patient care considerations for the
population served
- Demonstrate application of knowledge, skills, and behaviors in
the physical, motor/sensory, cognitive, psychosocial, patient and
family education areas based on PEMC age specific care competency
assessment tool
- Participate in the development and implementation of an
interdisciplinary plan for patient care
- Plan integrates assessments, goals and outcomes, and diagnostic
reports
- The medical treatment plan maintains patient safety and
diagnostic reports
- Assist with discharge planning process upon admission and
utilizes appropriate community and family resources to support a
seamless transition to the next level of care
- Implement nursing care based on the plan of care, as
directed
- Nursing care is safe, competent and based on the plan of care
and is performed under the supervision of a RN
- Follow medical staff orders, assesses effectiveness of
treatments and documents patient progress appropriately
- Provide and documents patient/family education
- Participate in patient evaluation
- Review patient status per departmental standards adjusts plan
of care as directed in collaboration with the RN
- Document patient response to treatment
- Utilize interdisciplinary resources to evaluate individual
patient needs
- Accurately administer medications and performs IV
procedures
- Follow policies and procedures
- Recognize precautions, interactions & side effects of
medications
- Immediately reports unusual events to RN or Physician
- Document patient care given
- Perform documentation of patient care given per hospital and
department policies
- Delegate appropriate tasks
- Use critical thinking skills to delegate appropriate tasks to
other care providers
- Complete Annual Skill Lab for unit
- Attach documentation from most recent Annual Skill Lab
- Maintain confidentiality of records or medical center
information at all times
- Confidential information & conversations are secured from
general public access
- Ensure all faxes and other communications between the RC, the
lead node, and the data management centers adhere to federal
regulations
- Maintains full knowledge of HIPAA regulations Required
qualifications for this position include:
- Completion of LPN/LVN program
- Current Washington State LPN License
- CPR Provider
- Recent patient care experience Preferred qualifications for
this position include:
