Providence is calling a Medical Technologist I/Medical Laboratory Scientist I/Medical Laboratory Technician (1.0 FTE, Night Shift) to Laboratory Services at Providence Regional Medical Center Everett in Everett, WA. We are seeking a Medical Technologist to perform test analysis on patient specimens including blood, urine, culture samples and other body fluids. Performs test analysis on quality control samples, proficiency samples and performs equipment maintenance. In this position you will:

• Demonstrates age specific patient care considerations for the population served.
• Demonstrates application of knowledge, skills, and behaviors in the physical, motor/sensory, cognitive, psychosocial, patient and family education areas based on PRMCE age specific care competency assessment tool.
• Performs test analysis on patient specimens
• Evaluates integrity of specimen, follows up on unacceptable specimens, and performs requested testing, follow-up studies, dilutions, calculation, antibody ID, and organism work-up as necessary.
• Performs and evaluates analysis of quality control, proficiency specimens, and patient statistics.
• Test quality control specimens; documents and troubleshoots to resolve issues with quality control according to policy.
• Test proficiency specimens on shift received according to lab procedure.
• Resolves issues with instrumentation using resources at hand and /or calling the appropriate hotline in a timely manner Required qualifications for this position include:
  • Bachelor's degree with ASCP/ASCPi Certification as a MLS or MT experience prior to hire.
  • Must be ASCP or ASCPi licensed as a Medical Technologist or Medical Laboratory Scientist or have technologist/scientist certification in the department that the individual will be trained. ASCP licensure attained after 1-1-04 must be renewed every 3 years through ASCP CMP. ASCP licensure attained prior to 1-1-04 requires no renewal. If eligible to sit for the ASCP/ASCPi exam, the employee must receive ASCP/ASCPi within six months of hire. Preferred qualifications for this position include:
