The Family Oncology department is seeking a Lead Medical Assistant to join their team Full Time located in Shoreline.The Medical Assistant Lead works with all members of the departmental health care team providing leadership and problem solving to the department including mentoring new team members, overseeing the DMS huddle at the point of care level, assistance to patients, and nursing staff with direct and indirect patient care, ensuring smooth work and patient flow within the department by following appropriate Clinic policies and protocols. The MA Lead is a working lead (90% working, 10% Administrative support), spending - 4 hours weekly focused on site support.The Everett Clinic, a part of Optum, offers excellent benefits including; free onsite parking, retirement savings plan, tuition reimbursement, paid time off and holidays, health insurance as well as, professional growth opportunities.The Lead Medical Assistant responsibilities include:Face to face, telephone or electronic contact with patients for the purpose of examination, treatment, monitoring, and preparation for diagnostic tests or procedure.Notifying the RN/provider immediately in situations where the patient is unstable or requires urgent or emergent care.Assisting with care under the direct supervision of the RN/provider.The MA-C functions as an integral member of the healthcare team.Contributes pertinent information to the plan of care and assists in monitoring care.Lead and participate in daily Huddles. Keep staff engaged in huddles.Escalates conditions of concern to FA or RODPost metrics provided by Management Team to DMS BoardObserve and note Standard Work deviationsSolicit and implement ACT ideas as appropriateInitiates signal for change in flow statusPrepares and maintains clinical and office supplies and equipment for treatments. Including instrument processing and restocking of exam rooms. Coordinates purchasing of supplies with manager.Assigns roles to take calls from RC daily or as needed.Weekly:Walk through exam rooms for cleaning standards and supply review, and staff areas for 5s compliance.May add education pieces to daily huddles as directed and discussed with Management TeamMonthly:Process Metrics: Gathers trends to measure on DMS, give to Clinical Supervisor to analyzeParticipate in monthly MA Lead meetings to discuss any issuesRequirements:Has passed or is eligible to sit for one of the DOH approved examinations.Successful completion of a Department of Health (DOH) approved accredited medical assistant training program.Documented proof of 7 clock hours of Aids education.Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers (through the American Heart Association).Full COVID-19 vaccination is an essential requirement of this role.
