Best.Headquartered in Seattle with remote offices across states, Physicians Insurance values expertise, commitment, and putting people first.Position Summary:The Director, Assumed and Ceded Reinsurance, will oversee reinsurance settlements, manage data flow, facilitate reinsurance purchases, report liabilities, and ensure contractual compliance. The role involves maintaining relationships with reinsurance partners, supporting transactions, and educating internal teams on reinsurance concepts.Key Functions:

• Ensure accurate and timely settlements with reinsurance partners.
• Manage reinsurance data flow into and out of financial systems.
• Support reinsurance purchases for core business lines.
• Report liabilities accurately to reinsurers, brokers, and internally.
• Collect ceded liability balances for financial statements.
• Ensure contractual compliance.
• Maintain positive relationships with reinsurance partners.
• Monitor reinsurance transactions.
• Support other departments on reinsurance issues.
• Educate teams on reinsurance concepts.
• Oversee processes like Schedule F preparation.
• Collect reinsurance recoverables.
• Coordinate reinsurer claims and audits.Requirements / Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Insurance, Accounting, Finance, Actuarial Science, or related field, or equivalent experience.
• 7+ years managing reinsurance in commercial casualty insurance preferred.
• Knowledge of Treaty Reinsurance and insurance operations.
• Strong accountability and problem-solving skills.
• Preference for Seattle-based work 3 days/week.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Experience with Sapiens Reinsurance Pro or similar systems preferred.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
• Experience in underwriting, finance, accounting, or actuarial fields.
• Experience in budgeting and forecasting.
• Established reinsurance brokerage relationships.The salary range is $115,400 to $184,000, with potential bonuses and comprehensive benefits.
