  • Create a happy, educational, and fun experience for all store visitors, inspiring others to do the same.
  • Continuously grow and develop in an environment rich in education, focusing on the health and nutrition of dogs, cats, and small animals.
  • Lead by example, train, and mentor staff to contribute to sales growth through excellent customer service, focusing on solutions and fulfilling customer needs graciously.
  • Work with the team throughout the day to maintain an inviting and attractive store by cleaning, organizing, receiving, rotating, restocking, and facing inventory.
  • Perform transactions at the point of sale, including opening and closing procedures, cash handling, and other financial tasks accurately and efficiently.
  • Foster the team's growth and performance through fair delegation, encouragement, empowerment, and regular communication.
  • Build community presence by establishing relationships with neighboring businesses, shelters, and residents.
  • Identify and hire excellent candidates to create a cohesive and successful team.
  • Adapt to different environments, communication styles, and developmental needs with flexibility and an open mind.
  • Work in a retail setting with flexible scheduling, including various shifts.
  • Work across a minimum of six locations as needed.Required Skills:
  • Must be 18 years or older
  • Proven leadership experience in a service-oriented environment for 6+ years
  • High school diploma, GED, or equivalent
  • Experience leading a team
  • Flexibility in location and schedule
  • Ability to lead a shift and train staff
  • Ability to lift up to 45 pounds
  • Proficiency with basic math, computers, calculators, and 10-key
  • Passion for learning about dogs, cats, and small animals
  • Genuine enjoyment in making others feel welcome
  • High accountability and integrity
  • Good judgment and ethical decision-making
  • Self-motivated and receptive to guidance
  • Team-oriented, contributing to co-worker happiness and effectiveness
