Full Time (1.0 FTE) Salary/ExemptYear Long Schedule (2025-2026)

individual to join our Athletic Department team as an Associate
Director of Athletics. We are seeking a candidate who is able to

athletics program works within the rules of the Washington
Interscholastic Activities Association (WIAA) to provide athletic
opportunities and competition for students of all gender
identities. While most sports are offered separately for boys and
girls, the Athletics Department staff is committed to working
collaboratively with all participants to determine options that
best suit each student-athletes journey.The Associate Athletic
Director will report directly to the Athletic Director and serve as
both an independent leader and a collaborative team member. The
position plays an essential role in creating positive, inclusive,
and education-based athletic experiences that fosters physical,
social, and personal development. The Associate Athletic Director
will be a key member of a robust and well-resourced department that
includes the Athletic Director, Assistant Athletic Director,
Athletic Trainer, Fitness Specialist, Athletic Department Intern,
coaching staff, and on-call staff. The Associate Athletic Director
will support the Athletic Director in the overall management of the
Bush Blazers Athletic Program and will take direct responsibility
for specific programs, initiatives, and staff within the
department.While other duties may be assigned, a qualified
candidate will be able to manage the key responsibilities and tasks
listed below:
- Leadership and School Engagement:

- Engage in broader school life, including admissions, alumni,
and communications events
- Serve as the department lead in the Athletic Director's
absence
- Communication and Sports Information:
- Maintain positive, professional communication with students,
families, colleagues, and external partnersCollaborate with the
Communications Department to promote Bush
- Athletic and ensure timely updates across all platforms
- Manage the Athletic Department's social media presence
- Manage and develop content for the school website/portal, Bush
Blazers VNN/WPA pages, and display screens
- Hire and coordinate with the sports photographer for media days
and create highlight slideshows for end-of-season events
- Maintain accurate records of scores, stats, standings, and a
photo archiv
- Athletics Department Operations - All Divisions:
- Support the Athletic Director in the oversight of K-12
athletic, including:
- Recruiting and onboarding coaches
- Planning safe and efficient home contests
- Maintaining athletic facilities and equipment
- Developing and updating departmental policies and
procedures
- Managing the Athletic Department budget and processing related
expenses
- Collaborate as a thought partner on strategic departmental
initiatives
- Supervise and support the Fitness Specialist
- Track coaches' certifications and professional development to
ensure compliance with school and state regulations
- Plan and host special events (e.g. award ceremonies, signing
days, senior nights, National Girls & Women in Sports Day)
- Attend internal, league, district, and state meetings
- Serve as a chaperone for overnight athletic trips as
needed
- Lower School and Middle School Athletic:
- Lead Lower and Middle School athletic under the supervision of
the Athletic Director and in partnership with the Assistant
Athletic Director
- Collaborate with Lower School and Middle School administration
to promote broad student participation and ensure athletic
operations align smoothly with the school schedule and other
activities
- Represent the school in the Cross-Town Middle School League and
CYO, ensuring compliance and strong communication
- Hire, onboard, supervise, and evaluate coaches
- Coordinate practice and contest logistics-including facilities,
transportation, and officials-with support from the Assistant
Athletic Director
- Oversee uniform and equipment inventory
- Ensure safe and efficient operations for home and away
contests
- Attend away games as needed
- Other Duties
- Serve on the Booster Club and Upper School Athletic Student
Council, supporting events and initiatives
- Working nights and weekends is expected
- Perform additional responsibilities as assignedExperience and
Professional Competencies:
- Required:
- Associate degree
- Minimum two years of experience in athletic administration
- Exceptional verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to lead, collaborate, and engage professionally with
all school stakeholders
- Highly organized, detail-oriented, and able to manage multiple
priorities
- Skilled in Microsoft Office, Google Suite, and Zoom
- CPR, First Aid, and AED certification for adults and children
(or willingness to obtain shortly after hire)
- Preferred:
- Bachelor's or advanced degree
- Experience coaching youth or high school sports
- Current NIAAA certifications
- Familiarity with commonly used athletic administration
platforms (e.g., FinalForms, WIAA Hub, Arbiter)
- Working knowledge of NFHS and WIAA rules and regulations
- Experience creating social media content (e.g., Gipper) and
communications for broad audiences
- Background in independent schools or other student-centered
educational environments
- Valid driver's license and ability to transport athletes to
off-campus practices and competitions as neededSuccessful

- Complete work in a timely and thorough manner and be
conscientious about assignments and deadlines

fluent

working with a highly functioning team

- Utilize technology to support student success (e.g. Google
Workspace, Microsoft 365, learning management systems,
etc.)Additional Requirements:
- Have a current Adult and Children CPR, First Aid and AED
Certification (or receive one soon after hire date)

background screeningsCompensation/Benefit Information for this
position:
- Salary Range: $90,000 - $95,000
