Description:
At Cocoon House we empower young people, families, and communities
in Snohomish County to break the cycle of homelessness through
outreach, housing, and prevention. Currently, our Young Adult
Housing program is looking for the right person to fill the Young
Adult Case Management role which works directly with previously
homeless young adults ages 18-24. The purpose of this position is
to offer case management to 25-30 young adults in a housing first
program model between Journeys at Cocoon House and HopeWorks
Station II with Housing Hope.Our Case Managers...
- Build relationships with young adults to establish trust and
engagement in services when needed
- Maintain healthy and safe boundaries with young adults
- Have a strong familiarity with local services and how to access
them
- Accept and are competent a variety of lifestyles, behaviors,
and cultural and spiritual practices
- Communicate clearly and effectively with the young adults in
the program, outside partners, and the public that they work
with
- De-escalate crises and utilize anti-racist, inclusive,
equity-based, and trauma-informed care in all of their workWhat
does the job look like?Days Full-time: 40 hrs/week
- Build and maintain case management using strength-based,
positive youth development approach with a focus in key areas such
as: education, employment, housing, health/wellness, life skills,
relationships, and community connectedness.
- Assist young adults in maintaining housing at Cocoon House or
making the transition to other permanent housing options when
appropriate
- On-site support for young adults to remain compliant with their
lease agreements
- Manage accurate and timely data and paperwork related to
individual cases Benefits:

Requirements:
Preferred:
- Bilingual English/Spanish skills
- Knowledge of adolescent development
- Case management skills or experienceGeneral:
- Must be 21 years of age or older
- High school diploma or GED
- Experience working with young adults experiencing
homelessness
- DSHS background clearance
- Acceptable driver's abstract with no more than 2 violations
within last 3 years
- Possess a valid driver's license, insurance, and reliable
transportation
- Proof of COVID-19 vaccination(s)Physical:
- Ability to perform range of physical motions, exerting up to 50
pounds
- Lifting and carrying up to 50 pounds
- Standing, walking, sitting for long periods of time, kneeling,
squatting, and stooping
- Running for brief periods of time
