Find your future with us.The Boeing Commercial Airplanes Flight Controls team is hiring multiple managers to lead Autoflight and Primary Control Law engineering teams located in Everett, WA. In this role you will apply your leadership skills, technical expertise, and commitment to quality to manage and lead a team of flight control engineers responsible for developing fly-by-wire flight control laws for major Boeing Commercial Airplanes development programs and projects. Exact placement within the organization will depend on the candidates strengths and the organizations needs.Position Responsibilities:

• Manage team priorities, work statement, and budget allocation
• Provide oversight of technical decision making and ensure engineering quality and safety
• Provide status and communicate risks, issues, and opportunities to engineering and program leadership
• Eliminate/mitigate roadblocks and risks both technical and program management related
• Develop, grow, and mentor the team
• Integrate across functional organizations including Stability & Control, Aerodynamics, Loads & Dynamics, Avionics, Crew Ops, and Airplane SafetyThis position allows telecommuting. The selected candidate will be required to perform some work onsite at one of the listed location options. Basic Qualifications (Required Skills / Experience):
  • Bachelor, Master or Doctorate of Science degree from an accredited course of study, in engineering, computer science, mathematics, or physics
  • 3+ years of experience in leading engineering teams in a formal or informal leadership role
  • 5+ years of experience in an engineering rolePreferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):
    • Experience with Guidance, Navigation and Controls (GNC)
    • Experience with flight test and/or program management
    • Communication experience, both written and verbal, with a comfort in public speaking and frequent interactions with executive-level management
