Job Description:

This candidate will be an innovation-focused strategic practitioner in Fortives Growth Accelerator, with previous experience as an ethnographer or business strategist in an innovation lab, growth accelerator and/or design and innovation firm. This leader will develop and deploy the growth innovation process across Fortives portfolio of operating companies in order to accelerate organic growth. Furthermore, the Director, Growth Accelerator will evangelize and teach this set of tools, process and methodology to the entire organization. They will be instrumental in developing curriculum, teaching and mentoring junior catalysts and guiding teams that will create new business ideas and revenue streams for Fortives operating companies.
This candidate will lead Growth Accelerator Innovation Sprints and will lead junior catalysts on the Growth Accelerator Journeys, a process of immersive VOC and rapid experimentation. This candidate will play a vital role in building a culture of innovation and managing the creation of overarching insight, alongside a multi-functional team, that solves for Fortives toughest growth challenges. The Director, Growth Accelerator will balance a passion and deep understanding of ethnography with the ability to execute and deliver extraordinary results.
-30% travel will be required
CANDIDATE PROFILE
The ideal candidate will have experience creating ethnographic insights and business strategies that deliver sustainable growth. Fortive is seeking a candidate with a broad functional underpinning who has demonstrated ability to derive insights from VOC and experimentation. The candidate must be an exceptional practitioner with a strong process and continuous improvement mindset as well as a passion for mentorship and teaching. The candidate will be action-orientated and open-minded with a strong competitive desire to win and to help others win. S/he will inspire teams to achieve new levels of performance and will lead teams successfully through change processes, resulting in teams adopting new and better ways of doing things. PROFESSIONAL BACKGROUND & EXPERIENCE
Previous experience as an ethnographer in an innovation lab, growth accelerator and/or design and innovation firm
Experience mentoring and collaborating in a team setting to bring up capabilities in junior team members
Executive presence and technical depth to function as a mentor/advisor and deliver training across Fortive globally
Experience building positive relationships with peers and senior leaders to ensure open communication and effective service delivery
Challenge the status quo and consistently seek opportunities to innovate and re-engineer processes to improve Fortives ability to innovate in the best way
Demonstrated ability to solve complex business challenges using VOC and experimentation, with a deep connection to the consumer as well as a grounding in the market, business and technical environments
Bachelors/Masters degree in Business, Anthropology, Psychology, Marketing, Customer Experience, Design Thinking or related field
