your future with us. The Boeing Commercial Airplanes (BCA)
Materials and Process Engineering organization is seeking an
Associate (Level 2) or Experienced (Level 3) Chemical and Material
Obsolescence Engineer to support our team in Everett, Washington or
Seattle, Washington . This position is among a team of highly
skilled engineers that manage Boeing Commercial Airplanes (BCA)
Programs technical project portfolio for specific chemical
restrictions and material obsolescence. As a member of the team,
the responsibility is to lead resolution of risks/issues of
material obsolescence and environmental regulations that affect BCA
production. The ideal candidate will work extensively with BCA
Airplane Programs, BCA Engineering Functions, Supply Chain Supply
Chain Engineering (SCE), BR&T, CAS, Global Enterprise
Sustainability (GES), Environmental Health and Safety (EHS), BCA
Product Development, BCA Business Strategy, & Environment,
Enterprise EHS, Washington DC Ops, Boeing International Policy,
Legal, and Intellectual Property. Position Responsibilities:
Perform risk analysis and project planning; Lead and integrate
project teams to develop strategy, plans and implementation
activities. Engage with cross-functional organizations to define
plan, identify responsibilities, and manage plan execution in order
to meet engineering, quality, and schedule requirements. Provide
technical, business and integration leadership for the development
and execution of the project plan. Communicate plans and status to
Boeing leadership. Coordinate to evaluate existing materials for
use as replacements or to qualify additional sources. Study,
evaluate, and solve problems where chemicals & materials are needed
to support current production. Document completed risk project via
coordination sheet. Identify and define process improvements for
risk mitigation. Use Program Management Best Practices and Boeing
project management systems. Organize and lead projects with
cross-functional, multi-disciplined team members to protect BCA
airplane production with regards to environmental regulation
compliance and material technical obsolescence. Other
responsibilities may include: Provide support, guidance and
direction for Enterprise chemical policy, external engagement and
supply chain strategies. Support BCA needs for regulatory and
industry meetings, consortia, and workgroups associated with a
variety of environmental regulations. Chemical Regulation Advocacy,
Assessment and Compliance support - Respond to technical data
collection requirements, provide technical inputs (current and new
regulations), Represent CMRM in the Chemical Alternative Technology
(ChAT) Forum. Represent Boeing at various industry forums and
response networks for regulatory advocacy. Perform research and
author presentations, white papers and coordination sheets for
background, guidance and planning needed to achieve environmental,
sustainability, and chemical regulation requirements. Support
research, analysis, advocacy, development and implementation for US
EPA and EU REACH environmental regulation compliance. Provide
research and analysis to support environmental inquiries related to
customer airlines. Provide research and analysis support to Legal
Counsel. Support of data mining activities in BCA Bill-Of-Material
and other data sources. Experience with Boeing Specifications, BCA
Bill-Of-Material (BOM), BCA change process, Safety Data Sheets,
Supply Chain, and BCA BOM data mining is a plus. This position is
expected to be 100% onsite. The selected candidate will be required
to work on-site in Everett, WA or Seattle, WA. Basic Qualifications
(Required Skills/Experience): Bachelor of Science degree from an
accredited course of study in engineering, engineering technology
(includes manufacturing engineering technology), chemistry,
physics, mathematics, data science, or computer science. Level 2: 2
years of related work experience or an equivalent combination of
education and experience. Level 3: 5 years of related work
experience or an equivalent combination of education and
experience. Experience in multi-discipline engineering project
management. Ability to work independently while being a good team
player. Superior organizational and communication skills with
capability to work on multiple projects with multiple programs and
functions. Advanced analytical skills; ability to perform high
quality structured research and analysis using multi-variable data.
Capability to interpret complex requirements and provide a clear
message to team members and leadership. Ability to influence and
engage stakeholders by using excellent verbal and written
communication skills. Exceptional listening skills, adaptive
leadership expertise and the ability to function in a dynamic,
challenging work environment. Capability to lead a project with
team members towards a cohesive, unified goal. Strong presentation
skills and the ability to create, deliver, and share persuasive
presentations to internal and external stakeholders.

Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience): Master of Science in
Chemical engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Engineering
Management or equivalent. Demonstrated ability to solve complex
problems through diverse approaches. Experience with complex
integration is preferred. Experience with leading project execution
to complete the work statement is preferred. Knowledge of Boeing
production systems. Broad knowledge of materials used in aerospace
preferred. Network into materials technologies preferred. Mental

considerations. Summary Pay Range Associate (Level 2): $90,950 -
$123,050 Summary Pay Range Experienced (Level 3): $111,350 -
