Replacement Program (CERP) is modernizing the B-52H airframe with a
new underwing twin pod propulsion package featuring F130 engines
provided by Rolls-Royce. Our team will be retrofitting an airframe
which conducted its first flight in 1952 and entered service in
1955. The CERP program is a collaboration between Boeing Commercial
Aircraft (BCA) and Boeing Defense, Space and Security (BDS) that
will enable the USAF to efficiently operate the B-52 through
2050.The B-52 Propulsion Pneumatics team is seeking qualified
candidates to join us as we complete the second phase of the
program including a majority of Common Non-Recurring Product
Definition (C-NRPD) final layout closures and production releases
which will culminate in a Critical Design Review (CDR) in 4Q2024.
From there the team will continue to support the program as it
moves through hardware build up, component testing, engine
development, program testing, and finally aircraft modification,
flight testing, and final delivery.Our teams are currently hiring
for a broad range of experience levels including; Associate,
Experienced and Senior B-52 CERP Pneumatic Design Engineer"This
position is hybrid. The selected candidate will be required to
perform some work onsite at one of the listed location options.
This is at the hiring team's discretion and could potentially
change in the future"The position must meet Export Control
compliance requirements, therefore a "US Person" as defined by 22
C.F.R. - 120.15 is required. "US Person" includes US Citizen,
lawful permanent resident, refugee, or asylee. Position
Responsibilities:
- Develops and maintain product definition for pneumatic systems
such as the anti-ice, starter, and ECS bleed ducting, pre-coolers
and fan air ducting, pneumatic equipment and plumbing, APU-like
exhaust and compartment ducting including designs for support
brackets, support link, flex joints, and valve placement.
- Develops and document requirements in a Specification Control
Document (SCD) for propulsion equipment, i.e. transport elements,
specialized pneumatics, etc.
- Manages requirements validation and verification in support of
model-based engineering (MBE) initiatives.
- Leads technical reviews and program reviews related to the
development, qualification, and military certification of
propulsion equipment.
- Manages risks, issues, and opportunities as necessary to
support product development timelines.
- Maintains equipment qualification project schedules and track
and report on performance to plan.
- Provides project engineering support to ensure a consistent
approach (tools & processes) to equipment management.
- Executes Boeing's C-NRPD product design maturation
process.
- Works with Boeing counterparts in Oklahoma City and at our
engine company partner.
- Manages and prioritize competing priorities in support of key
milestones.
- Promotes a One Boeing approach to this project.
- Work effectively with the entire value stream to accomplish
desired results.
- Some travel may be required.Basic Qualifications (Required
Skills/Experience):
- Bachelors, Master's or Doctorate of Science degree from an
accredited course of study, in aeronautics or engineering?
- 1 or more years of experience with engineering design tools
such as CATIA, ENVOVIA, and/or PDMPreferred Qualifications (Desired
Skills/Experience):
- Experience with Boeing's C-NRPD layout process and releasing
engineering.
- Experience with development programs is preferred.
- Experience with Hybrid- and Model-Based Definition is
preferred.
- Experience with external suppliers or partners is
preferred.
- Experience supporting Boeing Military programs is
preferred.
- Excellent communication skills; ability to clearly communicate
verbally and written is required
- Design Engineering experience with propulsion systems,
mechanical or electrical systems, or airframe, on large fixed wing
aircraft.
- Proficient with FT&A workbench in CATIA.
- 3 or more years of higher education and/or related work
experience. (Higher education includes college, university,
technical school, licensing/certification programs, etc.)
- 5 or more years of higher education and/or related work
experience. (Higher education includes college, university,
technical school, licensing/certification programs, etc.)Typical

- Education/experience typically acquired through advanced
technical education from an accredited course of study in
engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry

preferred, although not required, accreditation standardExperienced
