growth. Find your future with us. The BR&T (Boeing Research &
Technology) Manufacturing Technology Integration Commercial team is
seeking an Associate Materials and Process (M&P) Engineer to
work with our diverse team of M&P Engineers supporting Payloads
and Interiors for all Boeing Commercial Airplanes models in Everett
or Renton, WA. This role requires knowledge/interest in all areas
of materials and processes, including but not limited to corrosion
principles, fabrication and assembly processes for composites,
thermoplastics, thermosets, organic finishes, inorganic finishes,
metals, and fasteners. This role requires an engineer who is
thorough, detail oriented, and has a passion for continuous
learning due to the generalist nature of Payloads/Interiors. This
requisition is intended to grow the talent pipeline and support our
internal / external customer s statement of work demands. Position
Responsibilities:
- Review drawings and specifications to ensure compliance with
material and process requirements and objectives
- Support design engineers in material and process definition and
selection of our interiors components
- Communicate with technical and non-technical personnel from
multiple skill areas and functions to evaluate technical
information and issues impacting design, production, and support of
products, services, or other deliverables
- Continued on-the-job training to develop knowledge of Boeing
systems, requirements, and material and process technology Perform
tests to qualify new tools, equipment, materials, parts and
processes to meet requirements
- Assist with activities to qualify suppliers to applicable
requirements
- Conduct basic analysis to determine performance or reasons for
failures of tools, materials, parts or processes
- Assist in implementing corrective and preventive actions
- Develop basic computer and production systems to satisfy user
requirements
- Use project management tools to meet cost, technical, and
schedule requirements
- Incorporate environmental health and safety, LEAN and Quality
principles into materials and processes, research, design and
qualification, and work procedures This position allows some
telecommuting. The selected candidate will be required to perform
some work onsite at one of the listed location options. On-site
work will be at a minimum of 3 days per week. This position must
meet Export Control compliance requirements, therefore a "U.S.
Person" as defined by 22 C.F.R. 120.15 is required. "U.S. Person"
includes U.S. Citizen, lawful permanent resident, refugee, or
asylee. Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):
- Bachelor of Science degree from an accredited course of study
in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or
chemistry
- 3+ years of experience in engineering
- 3+ years of experience in Materials and Process engineering
Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):
- Bachelor, Master, or Doctorate of Science degree in Chemical
Engineering, Materials Science, Materials Engineering, Mechanical
Engineering or similar discipline Typical Education / Experience:
Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical
education from an accredited course of study in engineering,
computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry (e.g. Bachelor)
and typically 2 or more years' related work experience or an
equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.g.
Master ). In the USA, ABET accreditation is the preferred, although
not required, accreditation standard. Relocation: This position
