an S&C Engineer (Level 3) to support our BCA team in Everett,
Washington. This position allows telecommuting. The selected
candidate will be required to perform some work onsite at one of
the listed location options.Position Responsibilities:
- Assist the Development and utilize advanced 6 Degree of Freedom
(DOF) aerodynamic flight models
- Collect and analyze data from various aerodynamics testing
methods(e.g. flight test, Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD), wind
tunnel)
- Develop and verify airplane-level flight requirements Develop
control surface and actuation size requirements
- Develop documentation to capture design decisions, analysis
results, and process improvements
- Develop new tools and techniques for improving analytical
efficiency
- Provide technical guidance during flight testing
- Understand and apply FAR part 25 certification requirements for
large transport aircraft
- Apply understanding of flight physics to advise airplane design
decisions
- Address in-service accidents and incidences related to flight
handling qualities
- Coordinate with a variety of internal and external
customers
- Respond to a variety of technical challengesThis position must
meet Export Control compliance requirements, therefore a "US
Person" as defined by 22 C.F.R. 120.15 is required. "US Person"
includes US Citizen, lawful permanent resident, refugee, or asylee.
Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):
- 3 years engineering experience
- Must have an Aeronautical/Aerospace or Mechanical Engineering
DegreePreferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):
- 4+ years engineering experience
- Knowledge of aerodynamic principles and analysis tools
- Computer Science, or mathematics minor/interest is desired
- Strong programming skills using at least one modern programming
language (e.g. Python, Matlab, etc)
- Experience working on a diverse team to solve complex
problems
- Strong understanding of mathematical and statistical methods
applied to engineering problems
- Ability to deal with ambiguous technical environments
- Ability to learn quickly and expand personal expertise with or
without technical guidance
- Thorough knowledge of flight test data flows and data
management strategies
- Experience in optimized web application development.Typical
Education/Experience:Bachelor's degree and typically 5 or more
years' experience in an engineering classification or a Master's
degree with typically 3 or more years' experience in an engineering
classification or a PhD degree with experience in an engineering
classification. Bachelor, Master or Doctorate of Science degree
from an accredited course of study, in engineering, computer
science, mathematics, physics or chemistry. ABET is the preferred,
although not required, accreditation standard.Relocation: This
