Project Engineer - Home Builder

Project Engineer Requirements:
Maintains contract with select trade partners and responsible for
some subcontract administration, including defining work scope,
answering inquiries, and supervising progress.
Participates in change management and change order process,
including pricing, processing, and assessing cost and schedule
impact before reviewing.
Maintains and performs project document control and procedures
(coordinating RFIs, shop drawings and submittal process maintaining
as-built drawings, etc.)
Collaborates with the project team lead in supervising design with
timely response to the submittal schedule.
Participate in the reviews of trade partners' submittals, ensure
compliance with scope and design documentation prior to forwarding
to project lead.
Coordinates with Project Manager and Superintendent in managing and
reporting overall project.
Prepares and supervises progress claims and estimates.
Coordinates inventory and tracking of materials and equipment and
expedites material orders.
Assists with site inspections from the design team to resolve
constructability and site coordination issues and reviews and
sign-offs on functionality and code compliance. Ensures that
resolution is achieved and accepted by all partners.
Involved in overall project closeout, including document archival,
maintenance and warranty manuals, deficiencies, and warranty
Participation in the approval process of weekly work reports and
other project expenses.
Weekly review of percent complete and backlog reports.
Responsibility for project profit and loss and cost control through
the review of all purchases and invoices related to projects.
Vendor price negotiations and material buy-out.
Project Engineer Qualifications:
Minimum of 1 year of construction industry experience.
Ability to review and create contracts.
Familiarity with change orders, purchase orders, variance PO's,
etc. is a plus.
Proficient in Microsoft Suite (Outlook, Excel, Word). Familiarity
with Microsoft Projects is a bonus.
