Position Type: - Middle School Teacher/ PE/Health Date Posted: 2/23/2026 Location: St. Pius X, Mountlake Terrace St. Pius X Catholic School has an opening for a part-time PE and Recess teacher for the upcoming 2026-27 school year. We are a diverse school located just north of Seattle in the community of Mountlake Terrace. A candidate with a teaching certificate is preferable; a student teacher may be considered. This position is a minimum of 25 hours per week with option for fulltime depending on experience in addition to physical education. We have a very strong, dedicated staff that work collaboratively together in a positive and supportive school environment. Our PE program is for grades preschool through 8th and recess monitoring is grades K-8 only. Qualifications for a strong candidate: Experience in physical education, health, coaching, and work with elementary school-aged students preferred. Create a positive classroom environment that supports the whole child and actively addresses the needs of diverse learners. Effectively communicate with parents, students, and staff verbally and in writing. Dedicated to lesson planning that uses the school's grade level curriculum and state standards that align with the school student learning expectations. Demonstrate knowledge of a variety of assessment methods and practices. Demonstrate a growth mindset and an openness to feedback. Possess skills to utilize technology for reporting and grading. Value the development of critical thinking skills in each student in a warm and caring environment. Promote Catholic identity and social justice. Salary information: Any offered salary is determined based on internal equity, internal salary ranges, market data, applicant's skills and prior relevant experience, degrees, and certifications. The budgeted *salary range is $25-$35/hour. *For a student teacher, the salary, while they are completing their student teaching, will be below the range until they complete their student teaching, at such time, their salary will be adjusted to scale.
